Although Stefan stepped onto his career path as a BSC student, his heart was always with the more artistic elements of life around him. He was moved by design as opposed to formula, and he managed to put this passion to practice by working part-time as co-ordinator of a number of small events. This temporary past time soon grew into a flourishing business, and today Stefan is recognized as one of the leading events décor and floral designers in South Africa.
Stefan’s success lies in his ability to listen to and intuitively understand a client’s brief. Recognising that every patron is unique, and that his most important purpose is to reflect that individuality, he designs relevant and distinctive events. “I believe that décor design is all about a very fine and subtle balance between color, structure, texture and simple lines”. Stefan’s passion for traveling has seen him gathering an invaluable treasure chest of eclectic inspiration from around the world. This, coupled with his love of photography, has given him a powerful arsenal of skill and experience which complement his profession beautifully. He is also ardent about food, fashion and film. “Being a person governed entirely by my senses, my events and floral designs need to reflect this. An event is an experience, and if I can make a lasting impression on my clients’ guests through what they see, feel, touch, taste and hear, then I have done my job properly.” Clearly his clients agree, and Stefan enjoys a formidable portfolio of recognized South African brands spanning a number of diverse industries.
